We are able to taylor our level of involvement to suit a client’s needs from simply offering technical assistance with design through to an all-encompassing ‘turnkey’ design and construction solution.

Selected as FMG’s Project Management Office for all earth quake repairs this extensive involvement helped us to build a streamlined, integrated system seamlessly planning designs, gaining approvals and working on construction, all the while examining alternatives and keeping design processes practical with the aim of avoiding extensive revisions.

Q: Will your team come out to evaluate my future home site to assure it is right for my new home?

A: We sure will! We will be happy to schedule a site visit for you – at no cost, or obligation. This is the best way to assure that your home gets situated on your land the perfect way for your lifestyle. We can also address any concerns or questions you might have about your lot before the actual building of your home takes place to make it as easy and care free as possible.

Q: Is there any cost or obligation to receive a price quote on my own architectural plans?

A: Absolutely not! We’ll be happy to schedule time to sit down with you to discuss your architecturally designed plans and your desired specification. Our price quotes are the most detailed in the industry and will spell out every item that affects the cost of your new home. No surprises – just a completely transparent quote for you to take home.

Q: How do I begin the process while I still have a home to sell?

A: We’ll be happy to put you in contact with one of our preferred lenders so you can ease into this transition.Yes, we have Show Homes available for viewing in both Christchurch and Wanaka, plus we always have a number of homes under construction that can be viewed as well.

Q: Can you help us find land if we don’t already own land?

A: Yes, don’t worry if you don’t have land yet, almost half of our customers did not own land before they came to us. We have valuable relationships with the subdivision developers who will be happy to help you find the perfect lot for your home.

Q: Do we have to begin with one of your house plans?

A: Not at all! That’s one of the things that sets us apart from the rest! Although we do have plans for you to choose from we are primarily a bespoke building company with our design team lead by renown Architectural Designer, Philip Bidwell. Whether you are building to a modest budget or are building your Architectural dream home, we will design your home for you!

Q: Do you have in-house financing?

A: We work with multiple preferred lenders and mortgage broker. We will be happy to put you in contact with them to help answer any financing questions you may have.

Q: What type of land do you build on?

A: The best part of choosing Homes By Maxim is that we build your home on the location of your choice. The location is up to you, in a rural setting, on a family farm, on a hill, in a sub-division , wherever you choose. Whether you currently own a site on which to build your new home, are narrowing down your options between multiple sites or are just getting started–we can help you through the custom home building process. We have extensive experience with building on any type of ground including all technical categories (TC 1, 2 and 3), steep hill sites.

Q: Are your homes fully warranted and guaranteed?

A: As we are a member of the Certified Builders association, every home has included their comprehensive 10 year residential guarantee insurance. All products, fixtures and fittings that we use are from reputable suppliers who back up their products with warrantees also.

Q: How long does it take from start to finish?

A: The process of building your dream home depends on the size of the home and the location of the build. It typically can take about five to nine months from start to move-in.
